Burr Oak Naturalist Program Events 10.28-10.29.16

Burr Oak State Park is featuring outdoor events this Fall. Naturalist Julie Gee has a vast array of knowledge and loves nothing more than to share it will others. Join them on their upcoming events including :

  • Mammals of Ohio (October 28th)  Mammals of Ohio is an informal “come and go” program in the lodge lobby throughout the day.  Julie will have a variety of mammal skins and skulls and ask attendees to guess the identity of each skin/skull while giving more information about the skins/skulls in which people show an interest.
  • Halloween Spooktacular  (October 29th)  Burr Oak offers a fun, family-friendly Halloween program on Saturday, October 29 from 5-9 pm.  Join the naturalist and volunteers from 5-7 pm for face painting, pumpkin carving and a Trick or Treat scavenger hunt.  Then at 7 pm you won’t want to miss the Spooktacular Night Hike which focuses on wildlife associated with Halloween.  After the night hike, gather around a campfire with s’mores!  Activities meet at the lodge shelter house and the night hike meets at the lodge boat ramp parking area.
