In an ongoing series, our own Grant Joy has been traveling throughout the OWR region on short day-trips to find and share its natural beauty:
The Perry State Forest is located 5 miles north of New Lexington on St. Route 345. The land that is now Perry State Forest was once strip mine land and has since been reclaimed. Perry provides ample opportunity for ATV riders, hunters, horse back riders, and hikers. Perry features scenic Lake Essington as well as Miles Lake and Lake Buckeye. Please check ahead about ATV trail access.
