Along the shores and beneath the lake lie the remains of lost life stories that will emerge and complete this beautiful place call Burr Oak. The secrets of the valley will bubble up to make this wonderful environment

Learn some of the secrets that Burr Oak lake is hiding while on a relaxing pontoon boat tour. You will hear many stories that were lost during the making of this beautiful lake. We will take you back in time when there were homes, covered bridges, schools and even a cemetery. The voices of the lives that once called this home want to be heard. You will also learn that some of the plant life is not native to this region but left behind by the homesteaders that resided there. This tour will also give you a look at the making of Tom Jenkins Dam, the flooding of the valley and the new life that has evolved over the years, with a possible sighting of the American Bald Eagle, which has taken up residency in the trees. Bring your swimsuits for our visit to the quaint Burr Oak beach, where there’s a good chance that small fish will come right up to you in the water. While at the beach a light lunch will be served, and you will learn the history of how Burr Oak was named. This is a one of a kind tour to explore Burr Oak lake from the forgotten to the present.

Tour Specifics: We will be leaving boat dock #1 at 10:00am. The tour will be about 3 hours long, with a bathroom stop at dock #3, and the beach. We will also be stopping at the cemetery where there will be a short walk through the woods to reach the cemetery. This walk may be difficult for some. Bring your swimsuits, sunscreen, camera, and walking shoes.
