Local Pottery Company Hosts How-It’s-Made Tours

Beneath the history-etched coal seams of southeastern Ohio’s hills sits a different resource, that instead of being burned up to heat our buildings, has for decades been molded into bricks to build them.

The Burley Clay Products Company, founded in 1923, is continuing the tradition, making garden pottery and birdbaths out of southeast Ohio clay from the company’s mines.
