Monday, October 23 • Burr Oak Lodge
Register here for the Winding Road All-Sector Meetup on Monday, October 23 at Burr Oak Lodge near Glouster. Join with fellow entrepreneurs and community builders working to use Southeast Ohio’s many assets for sustainable business and experiential tourism product development that benefits both residents and visitors alike. Attendees will experience a full day of networking sessions, inspiring speakers, and collaborative discussions on the theme “Building Community around Authentic Products and Businesses.”
Meetup planners aim to provide attendees with inspiration, tools and knowledge from community leaders and successful business-owners in all of the Winding Road sectors: Outdoor Adventure; Unique Accommodations & Tourism Related Businesses; Local Foods; Interpretive Guiding; Heritage; Education; and Local Arts. The meet up will feature success stories from business owners who have started restaurants, unique inns, outdoor adventure companies, experiential guiding operations, delicious local food products and more. Panelists from each sector will lead discussions about the needs of businesses in each sector. The event begins at 9:30AM and concludes at 4PM.

State Rep. Jay Edwards of Nelsonville will address attendees at lunchtime. After lunch, the Winding Road Cafe will premiere, featuring sampling of locally purveyed coffee and legal spirits during a lively round table-hopping period of open discussion with experts providing business advice in small business package development, insurance, using public lands for your business, optimizing google and other search engines, transportation, social media, and other resources.
Tracy Kunkler, co-founder of the Asheville, NC-based Circle Forward Partners, will be on-site throughout the day to facilitate discussion regarding decision making structures to guide the Winding Road Collaborative into the future, as it works to increase sustainable, asset-based economic development in southeastern Ohio’s Hocking and Muskingum River Valleys. Her reflections will bring perspective to the event during the afternoon.
