OWR SNAPSHOT: Ora E. Anderson Nature Trail

on

In an ongoing series, our own Grant Joy has been traveling throughout the OWR region on short day-trips to find and share its natural beauty:

Located along St. Route 278, just north of Carbon Hill, in the Wayne National Forest, Ora E. Anderson Nature Trail is a ½ mile out and back nature trail along the former Columbus and Hocking Valley Railroad bed. The trail is centered around the Rutherford wetlands and features a gravel path with several benches for wildlife viewing and Ora’s poetry is also featured along the trail. The trail offers a quiet place to sit and contemplate. At the end of the trail, visitors can sit and watch the waters of Sunday Creek gently flow by. To find out more about Ora E. Anderson Nature Trail check out this online pamphlet.
